How long will it take to transition my property into the Storage Etc. system?
The transition process takes 30-45 days for an existing location to be completely integrated into the Storage Etc. team. The critical path items include assembling the best management team for the location, adding the property page to the storageetc.com site, and transitioning the property management software and systems.
What about my existing staff? Will they be given an opportunity to apply with Storage Etc.?
Yes, existing team members are allowed to apply for a position and owners’ recommendations will be considered. Storage Etc. cultivates a competitive working environment with high-performing managers. Internal and external candidates will be evaluated, and only the best will be selected.
Can I, as the self-storage property owner, still be involved if I sign-up for management services?
Yes, effective communication with the property owner is critical for the success of the property. You will have direct access to all decision-makers as well as customized reporting to satisfy your needs. We are flexible regarding the owner’s level of involvement.
How often will my property be visited?
The District Manager, Company Auditor, or another member of the home office staff will visit your site at least once a month to spend time with the managers, review action list items and make sure the property is operating in top condition.
Are you only interested in existing properties? What if I have a development property?
We are interested in managing existing and development properties. If you have a development property, it is preferable to become involved in the process well before the property opens. This way, we can serve as an operational consultant to advise about unit mix, signage, marketing, technology, etc.
Do you have any preference on size or geographic location for your managed properties?
While we have established a presence in California, Washington, Utah and Colorado, we are open to discussing management of any property in the U.S.
